They don't work new, how could a used one be expected work?

Bin the Paragon, save the service charge and fit anything else IMO.

Couldn't agree more. If it hasn't gone wrong now then it will eventually. I'm still not convinced the Mares is the way forward though...

Anyway, I bought a Draeger DSV mouthpiece off ebay to keep in my toolbox in times of the KISS DSV being knackered. It's quite handy to have.

Would you care to elaborate on your Mares doubts? I have one that breathes like a charm and have nothing but good experiences with the OC stuff. Are your doubts related to reliability or performance in the normal target range of the KISS?

Re: Anyone sell me a used working paragon ?

I've got one that was working when I took it off a couple of months ago. Never had any problems with it in the year that I used it. PM me if you're interested.

Cheers,

I've only just made the connection that it was you I bought it from! The booster is tempting!

I can't recall which way up I mounted it in the end, I needed flow in one direction for my homebuild and the opposite for my KISS. IIRC, it was OK for the KISS but had to go upside down on the homebuild. I need to have a go at mounting it in the CK hoses as the FGT hoses are a much smaller bore and the WOB is noticeable. It is a nice little bit of kit to keep for emergency use though.

Cheers,

Stuart

Working Paragon is a oxymoron. It's biggest claim to fame is having earned the much coveted " Unsafe at any depth" award from Rodales Magazine.
You may have lucked out @ got one of the golden turds but I sure would not bet my life on it. There is more than one way to replace it. Modify a good reg to fit, several on here have done so with some fine regs, get the Jetsam/Proton upgrade or get a Golum gear BOV. It does not matter how you do it, just do it. Replace the Paragon, it is a sneeky little bastard that will let you down just when you need it the most

Do a Google search "Mother of all reg review".
