Matthew I think there are some crossed wires here. Stuart is talking about whether a member is an instructor or not and if so for which units. Everybody is welcome here, those with formal instruction and those without. Homebuilders are as welcome as people like me who can't build sh1t, Stuart is just trying to represent as much useful information per member as possible. This is in no way to detract from the wealth and breadth of knowledge of homebuilders and self-taught CCR divers. Cheers, Dave Cooper. Moderator. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rebreathers you Dive I'm one of those folks who asked that there be more choices under rebreathers you dive, and i can speak to what my intention was. I"m still in a major learning phase...i'm starting to think that's never going to end...and when someone posts a problem with an inspiration, like let's just use "cracked handsets" as an example , i would like to know pretty quick which version of the electronics they are using. Most of the time it doesn't take long to figure this out, but why not make it easier. The other thing i'd like to see is that every time people list a whopping number under fatalities for the inspo/ they don't lump together classic inspos, vision inspos and evolutions. I think it's fair to put together all classic versions and lump togher all vision/inspo/evos, thought it really comes down to what there are enough of to warrent an individual listing...I can also see a justifycation for giving the inspo hammerhead own catagory as well, thought i don't know how many hammerhead inspos there are. Rebreather World certainly has it's leanings and that is only natural, but there is also a very commendable effort here to be open to all.

IMHO, it should list the units that you either own/owned and/or have more than just a few dives on.The reason is someone will look to the poster's list of units dived to weight opinion given. And if this person only had a couple of trial dives on the unit, their opinion is probably not as extensive as someone else's. However, at the end, it will still rely on the honesty of the person. Don't simply select the unit to beef up your credential if you don't have adequate experience on it.
