Yes, Gill, good point. Birds of a feather do tend to flock together. This IMHO, is the only big drawback to the system-people ganging up and back-patting, spending their green on their own kind and ignoring the odd men/women out, which would then seem to further inflate the reputations of the gang-bangers. But you got to take the good with the bad. Or just do it like Scubaboard and Diveoz do, just list the number of posts someone has and then their "reputation" is only as good as their last post...

Alternatively it could be the result of a popularity contest. That hypothesis could be verified by checking wether blond members of the female species have more green than their male counterparts although I doubt wether there are sufficient blond female CCR divers on this forum to have statistical relevant results...

So green stuff is not bad but like anything else, is ruled by politics. Makes sense. I've seen a few folks that don't strike me as get-along and more like in-your-face and know-it-alls that have some serious dots. I guess I'll wait to 'earn' my green so I too can be smarter than all of you.

It is an odd quirk that a lot of my green has come from reporting my stuff ups. People seem to congratulate me for being stoopid. I'm guessing there are a few people with a fair amount of green (which is blue - how very Aussie) in this camp
