User's Bio??

Is there anywhere we can set up a mandatory “location” AND “country” under the names/bios?

This community is now so global that you really don’t know where some people are from. Some addresses are so vague.

For example Chris’ bio says “Perth” (sorry buddy, but I had to pick on someone) http://www.rebreatherworld.com/members/chris.html

Now I know he lives in Perth, in Western Australia. But there are Perths in the UK, and Canada. And if you look in this link it gets even more confusing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perth there are Perths everywhere!!!!

It would just help in answering some questions if you knew where people were from.

Well maybe even better is we are working on proper integration with our map....If you look in the control panel in your profile at the mo you will see lat and long...

There will be a little button that pops up the map for people to choose their location then on the map you can choose to show which groups live where etc...

But also then on the post information box you know thing on the left that shows avatar, blog location etc there will be a new button which will pop up the users location on the map....

Mandatory is a bit steep. I don't care who knows where I am but others may be more sensitive. I agree that it's handy to know as if somebody is asking a question and he's a couple of miles up the road I can say 'come and see' but it's only a problem when they don't say and then assume you know.

Would be kind of handy if the rebreather(s) they used was displayed too as it makes a big difference to answers/comments in threads.

thats a good idea its a field in the user profile it shoudl be displaye don the left too.....

If I have the Meg by then I will let you dive it, but you may have to play on the PRISM, its just been calibrated by Steve

Have to twist Steve's arm when he gets back and see if I can get one of the 4 Megs he is bringing back with him in a couple of weeks,
