read new posts

Often I will see a post, wish to reply but need to check a fact before replying. Hit new posts button a second time the post I originally found that way no longer appears so I have to look it up. Other forums deal with read posts in search by un-bolding the title font, This I find much easier than making read posts invisible to subsequent searches.
So what do ya say, worth changing or not?

personally nah

one other forum I frequent doesn't do that and it annoys me

if I need to get back to a recent post i use the new posts on the fornt page or the back button

That is what I am saying does not work. Once I read a post it does not show on subsequent new post searches so hitting new post button does not show it.
Back button is OK but it depends on how many pages I had to search to find the answer I was looking for.

or just use "find today's posts" under search

Try opening another window to check other posts - then you can come back to the original post and reply.

I get annoyed when I post and then my post isn't a "New Post".

as Joe said, OR use the "Today's Posts" under the Quick Links button

Yup as the guys said - you have 2 choices use New Posts - which show NEW eg unread or todays posts....

To change the new post functionality woudl mean custom coding which i am trying to move away from on out of the box functionality.

What I can do though is put them both under one button if that would help?

It might help me but it might not help those who are used to doing it the other way. Sometimes it's easier to train the user than tweak the software.
I'll figure it out.
