getting spam email

I got it too.

Frankly it's quite nice to be spammed with a scuba related topic rather than all the others I get. I still deleted it as I'm not a professional and am not interested in being a professional. I never wondered where they got the address from. I get a lot of spam because I never post anywhere anonymously.

VB passwords are indeed hashed. Some general comments on passwords for the forum;

1. using your username/surname/company name as the password is a bad idea.
2. passwords should not be a plain dictionary name, use a combo of letters/numbers
3. use a different password for different sites. Im lazy so I use one password for forums, a different one for email, a different one for other online stuff and a completely different one for anything relating to my finances.

Hopefully thats all old news to people and they're now just bored reading this

Could all those that got spammed by the losers that hacked my account could you report it here then gmail will shut his account down....

You need the email account it came from and the headers the link above explains it.

Also for those of you who had the post deleted could you PM me the content of the post / thread that was deleted to help make up my evidence pack as the Police have asked for a little more information. They are also apprantly in contact with GMAIL so it will all help!
