The Perpetrator - A Hammerheaded Prism Prototype

I've been asked a several times about SMI's plans for a smaller Prism version, the equivalent to the MiniMeg. Pete Ready showed me a smaller version of the original 5.4 lbs scrubber that was only about 2/3 of it.

It didn't go into production because during tests it performed well in shallow depths and temperate waters, but lasted only for about 1 hour in cold Canadian waters.

Several of these were build when Steam Machines was colaborating with Carleton to bring the Prism to the market. Eventually Carleton withdrew due to liability worries, the reason they don't pursue the civilan market with MK series and Vipers, either.

Anyway, either parts of the prototype, or by the look of it more likely an entire rig have found its way into private hands. Electronics were repalced with Juergensen's Hammerhead, and the whole thing christaned The Perpetrator.
Pictures of it, and the 2/3 Prism scrubber, are at Golem Gear .

Compare those pictures with the ones from the 1999 DEMA Rebreather Party from New Orleans.
They're from Divematics .
The one on the left is the rig, same head, scrubber, bags, all the way to the Nitrox sticker and O2 tank on the right. What are the chances of that ... .

On the right is John Sherwood (of Sherwood/Fullerton)explaining the rig to guests.
