Stiffness of steal plate as opposed to plastic, curious if this presented any problems. Hi Marty, if anything, I found the scrubber bucket came off a little more easily with the rigid plate. It also went on a bit easier, maybe because the additional rigidity allows you to transfer the force more effectively. I did have to shim out the lower screws on the head with 2 washers on each side to get the head/bucket to sit nice and paralell with the plate though. |

There is a gap of about 1/2 inch btw the head and the cowling as it is right now, not sure why they left so much room inbetween, but there it is. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Our compact plate for PRISM head and basket Hey Guys, Been away a while, but glad to be back. 2nd plate design is done. We made all the changes to the plate as stated in earlier in this thread. George even added a cut out/handle. I think we will run cables off head through there to keep from pinching them against anything. Also, New saddle. All delrin with bevel headed screws from the back. Makes it look clean. The delrin should help when mounting and unmounting the bucket as it will slide easier. Only thing is no shock absorber with the softer mounted saddle if it were to fall. Question though. Instead of using the inner tube for tank protection and anti-slip material against the SS, what do you think off the spray on bedliner rubber. Just a thought. Should have same clearance so the cowling will still fit. For alls info, we did have to buy a plate of stains steel, so we used it all to make as many as we could, and have 7 plates extra. Unless otherwise stated, going to sell them $200 a piece. let me know if you are interested. Pics below, i hope. Thanks, James. |

What are the 2 long horizontal slots on the bottom for? And is this plate the same overall height and width as the prototype? -Andy |

![]() ![]() | Re: Our compact plate for PRISM head and basket Hey Andy, glad to hear from you. As far as the slots go. The top is remnants of the slots on the plate you have, just joined to make one long slot. Bottum slot allows two attachment points for added butt plate, bungee through for lift bag, etc. The slots let you place different length items. Plate is SS so plenty strong for slot instead of drilling several holes.Just an idea and thought we would try it out. The Plate is 1.5 inches longer, extended the butt. Same width, or cowling wouldn't fit. Obviously new saddle. What do you think of all delrin? Flush mounted screws from back side? Got rid of the bolt and nylock nut on the unit you have. Hole/Handle at top. will probably route cables through here to keep them from pinching against top of plate and ALSO Hands trying to help out by lifting my unit and not knowing what they are grabbing. Also went and Got some bed liner rubber material to replace the inner tubes that we were using. Put it on yesterday, will go see how it came out/dried later. Hope it sticks underwater. My truck bed liner doesn't come off in the rain . Will post a pic when i get back so you can see. Hope all is well, Going to be in Dallas this weekend for the Diverite tech weekend, taking the PRISM. Hoping to see exactly how they set their sidemount sling tanks. And 3 weeks from our Bonaire trip, much needed Combat diving in warm water. Talk soon. James |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Our compact plate for PRISM head and basket James, I will be on the ground in the mud (at this rate), for the Diverite Tech weekend. We have had straight rain for weeks up here. With all the rain we have had I would suggest getting a room. The grounds at the lake are primitive (ex-cow pasture.) There is limited sun cover so bring shade. I know the guys we will do our very best to keep everyone comfortable but there rumor of a lot of folks showing up. Nearest convenience store is way down the road outside of the park if you need supplies. There is a store inside of the park. The park only provides recreational air fills. If you are going to need O2 sources let me know, there are a few options. Water comment- If you have not dove Clear Spring before it has a very pronounced thermocline. You go from comfy at 18ft and by 22ft you have a headache without some serious thermal protection. The average depth is not much (40ft) and the tin can might reach 60ft. Last outing was 52 degrees in the middle of the summer at 50ft Burrrr…. There is a listing of things for the event under the ‘show and events’ listing. Depending on the size of the tanks there are lots of options for the sidemounts. Look forward to seeing you there. Regards, Andrew Hope all is well, Going to be in Dallas this weekend for the Diverite tech weekend, taking the PRISM. Hoping to see exactly how they set their sidemount sling tanks. ![]() ![]() | Re: Our compact plate for PRISM head and basket Well the bed liner stuff looks pretty good, and is fairly sticky. I think it is a ton better than those inner tubes. Georges idea, i can't take credit for this one. pic below. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Our compact plate for PRISM head and basket hey all, bedliner works well, if i had to compare on a scale of 1-10, the inner tube would be a 6 and the bedliner an 8. pretty sticky on land, slips a bit after dive when wet. I had no problem with tanks- only when really pushing on them did they slip. so with everyday diving i don't think it will be a problem. Diving was at Clear Springs, Dive Rite tech weekend. Folks were great, Clear Springs was a nice little mud hole. Had a really good time. Met some really good people. just an update. see ya, James PS- taking it to Bonaire on 15th, plan on doing several hours. love the PRISM. See ya soon. |
