PRISM sensors

Well the forums are nagging me because I haven't posted for a while so....

To all my fellow PRISM divers out there, just how long are your O2 sensors lasting ?

I know we are supposed to change them after 100 hours or 1 year which ever comes first but mine are over a year old and don't show any signs of giving up yet. They've been sat in 'air' or higher ever since I got my PRISM and have 45 hours of dive time on them. I even remembered to check on last dive and managed to read 1.6 after a good flush at 6M....

I'm going to get three new ones just in case, but I'm interested to see how long have yours lasted if you've continued to use them until they fell out of range ?

Cheers
Rich

PS I guess you MK boys have very similar ones, so please feel free to chime in.

Re: PRISM sensors

Dont have the Rebreather long enough, but I have gotten over 2yrs in my O2 analizers. What are your mv readings? When you start getting low they will drop quick, If your in the 17 range I would not fool around

Re: PRISM sensors

NFI Rich,

Officially 12 months, but my MK sensors are still going strong and the PRISM ones haven't dipped yet. If you would like a full set let me know as they are sitting on the docks with Aust Customs - so should be delivered early next week.

No surprise Hadwin, considering you don't dive anymore...

By the way, how many dives have you done on the Mk now??? Just curious...

Re: PRISM sensors

Hi Rich
I've swapped one out as it was giving me some dubious readings, and plan to swap another out sometime soon (ie christmas time) to give me a good spread of sensor ages.

Don't think any of the other guys here have swapped theirs yet, and I'd imagine a couple of the units would be well past 100 hours diving by now.

Mike

Re: PRISM sensors

I've put 125+ hours on my in the last 6 months; one sensor's rise time is
lagging a little bit behind the other two, but it's done that since day one and
so far they seem to be humming along nicely.

Cheers -

Re: PRISM sensors

Ok, an update: the sensor that was lagging a bit on rise-time has finally
croaked (won't read above 0.9), after 180 hours...

Just FWIW - new sensors on the way - hope they get here soon! Not
diving until Friday - wetsuit might actually dry all the way - horrors!

Re: PRISM sensors

Another update, in case anyone is interested. Second sensor replaced at 225 hours. It'll be interesting to see how the long last original lasts...

Not diving until Saturday. Horrors!
