| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Condensation in the Scrubber One of the things to come out of my recent trip was an issue with condensation build up in the scrubber housing. At 'home' I normally dive every weekend for an hour or so and will strip the scrubber off when I've rinsed the unit down so the condensation in the bucket gets dried up too. However on the trip, on a liveaboard, I was only stripping the thing down when the scrubber needed replacing. After 5 hours there was a fair bit of water in the bottom, ( all 'fresh' and drinkable when I checked ) but enough that I was starting to get concerned the sorb was going to get wet if I left if much longer. What do the rest of you do : Invert and try to drain it into the inhale lung ? Take the scrubber basket off every couple of hours or so and dry it ? Is it worth flushing through with dil at the end of the dive to dry the loop out a bit ? Cheers Rich |

| Go Nude Or Go Home Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Condensation in the Scrubber Hi Rich, I have replaced the poxy foam pad that does nothing at all in the bottom of the bucket. I got three car Chamois and cut them to the shape of the bucket, these work an absolute treat and take up all the condensation from at least a couple of days of diving. I still use the foam pads provided in the top and bottom of the scrubber, and at the top of the bucket. Cheers Chriso

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Condensation in the Scrubber I agree. The foam provided has all the absorptive qualities of fishnet. Last weekend I used the ubiquitous kitchen sponge in the bottom of the bucket and it worked a treatkeeping that little corner of sorb dry... I might go the chamois route for extra absorbtion. The only issue is that if you plan to not open up the bucket you could miss the opportunity to check the packing of the scrubber.... ![]() Cheers Last edited by Underwaterbear : 10th November 2005 at 00:33. |

I'm guessing that this has to do with my being a warm water only diver. Most of you down in Oz are in the southern cold water zone right? I don't open the scrubber until I have to change it or at the end of the day I'll open it up to let things dry out and store the scrubber for the night.-Andy |

| Made in England. Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Condensation in the Scrubber I've tried sponges in the bottom of the cannister and in the head it'self of my inspo, but it doesn't in all fairness seem to do ANYTHING, and i would suggest you open the canister between each dive, and let air circulate to dry off as much as possible between dives whenever possible. ![]()
