![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Prism Hud To be honest, I have always been interested in the Steam-Machine HUD (or HDD as called) way back from the day of "Cochran CCR". Too bad that progress has been slow on it. The picture of the HUD that Stefan took from DEMA sparked my interest again since it seems to show great resolution. What are the current capabilities of the Prism HUD/HDD now ? Is it still under development ? Or released ? It would be nice to watch a movie clip on deco... ![]() ADDited: Stefan, great job with the photos. Looking forward to the report...

| Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | The PRISM HUD looks awsome....I had a long chat with Peter about it and I must say when it comes to market I think it will turn the PRISM into the must have Rebreather. It displays at 600 by 480 res if I recall.... Had discussed with Peter the possibility of playing movies during deco whilst we had dinner and it is a capablity he imagines the system having - he is also considering the possibility of greatly incrreased functionality with the electronics to take into account the advanced capabilities of the HUD. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks Stuart. Any idea what time frame Peter has in mind ? I better saving my pennies from now... In the past, I have always tried to avoid OTS-CL (still hate them) units. But with the DT BM-CL, it opens a whole new world for me as far as unit selection. So one never know... except findind an International Prism instructor located in Middle-East might be difficult... ![]()

| Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Well time frame mentioned was test rigs definatly being out ther being dived next year, production I am not sure if I recall (I do admit to being slightly drunk).... Some of the other tweaks he was talking about look VERY interesting, they should really turn the PRISM into a super expedition class rig (not syaing a word what they were yet - was told in confidence)..... If they all come off I think 06 could be the year of the PRISM..... Now if only they could reduce that lead time........ Stuart |

And the one they call 'spermwhale' is watching the 'Girl's Gone Wild'. ![]() ![]() The show display used the small monitor screens that'll go into the single display HUD. Unfortunately hard to photograph, especially in a booth and with limited time. The display quality is great, very easy to read. It ran the same Powerpoint presentation as the labtop it was hooked up to. Images, video, graphics, maps, data, the possibilities are endless. That housing was designed for the USN as an amphibious version of NVGs. It has a flip down attachment to for the AGA and rather elaborate electronics ... Aside from building the rebreathers and distributing Sodasorb those engineering and prototyping contracts are very much part of Steam Machines' operation.

To be honest, that was the only reason against going with a PRISM for my GF. It's good SMI has more business than they can stand, but the Optima and Meg's availability narrowed the decision making.Stuart |
