At that time it was a big thing to me. Now, not so much. I'm also wondering what military group uses them. Have a few friends in there in the right places and they don't know anything about it. |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Deco electronics on the Prism my understanding is that the set was trialled but nothing more came of it, perhaps they have a few units still that were bought as part of the testing, there's only one HUD like that I'm aware of but it's not in the US and it's not for a specific set. |

Dave, the HUD mentioned isn't the deco computer display, but a flip-down for the AGA mask that Pete had at DEMA 2005. The design isn't his, he just did the prototyping as a contract. That display, afaIk, is indeed used in France.Do tell us what military unit uses this hardware and on what rebreather? Interested rebreather divers want to know. The idea of using a single screen to display deco and pO2 data derived from it, the picture above was an early prototype. Wasn't the last one, before the move to TN I played with one about half the size (same size screen). From what I gather the deco computer that SMI has been working on (and off) will be a brick with a "normal" display, rather than a HUD with screen, at least for the foreseeable future.

Had a short chat with one of my colleagues this AM and he does not believe that the thing is in use there. I work for Dassault (remember Mirage fighters?) for my day job and have direct line to almost every French military command (including the Navy, from where I get little goodies like my DC-55 parts) so I had a little Q&A and that's the skinny from France. Speaking as someone immersed fully in the French military/industrial world, I can tell everyone that they would very rarely use any foreign made defense technology. The French are perversely dedicated to complete independence from outside defence material support. Remember who *invented* the Aqua-Lung? The *last* thing in the world that they would use is a US made piece of diving kit.... Try again? Dave

| PRISM DIVER & LUVIN IT! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Deco electronics on the Prism Shades of "The Prism will be selected by the US Navy".... It is to my understanding that heads up displays are in use (if not please correct me), I did not mean to imply that they were PRISM'S or that they even provide deco. I do not know how advanced or what data they do provide, or who even manufactures or supplies them. The point I was trying to make is it will be a while before the sport arena sees this type of computerDo tell us what military unit uses this hardware and on what rebreather? Interested rebreather divers want to know. Dave ![]()
