It would be nice to know at least what level the unit is pitched at rather than making people wait ages before they can include or not include it in making decisions....... Cis made them signed non-disclosure statement before showing the unit. It is just a marketing ploy to generate some level of excitement for the introduction...It is just around corner (i.e. next week) so we could be a little more patience. Supposedly, there will be more (un-named) units to be introduced as well so there will be lots of choices in the next year... ![]() |

Not quite sure why this is necessary. It would be nice to know at least what level the unit is pitched at rather than making people wait ages before they can include or not include it in making decisions....... The new MK6 is for the sports-diving market only and is fully automatic. It even says so on Poseidon's homepage. Kurt who presented the MK6 for us clearly said that "we" (technical divers) were not the target group. The easy part is done. Now comes the hard job and with the right pricing I think the MK6 could be a success. Let's only hope they have tested the machine enough so it doesn't become a new Triton ![]() // Blomman |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Automatic instead of manual gas addition valves I can only repeat the reasoning of the Titan chap, he insisted that manual valves have a much higher failure rates than solenoids, hence using solenoids to inject both O2 and dil would be safer. Leaving out manual valves altogether would also add to the loop integrity since there are less points of possible water entry. He didn't say anything when I asked him about failure rates of the solenoid controlling electronics and their power supply, though. ![]()

After 10 years of diving Rebreather, I could recall 1 MAV leaking (my fault for being lazy/hurry in assembly so not sure if could classified as failure) that resulted running out of O2 (also last dive of trip, low O2 pressure on 2L tank) on a long dive.![]() I have lost count the number of controller failures. However, I tend to crash-test new things so not all could be classified as production version, but still the number of controller failures is much higher relatively. So I am "scared" of any unit that is completely automated... ![]() |
