...and adding to that: for the deco-calculation-part of the electronics, it also doesn't matter, as those are also based on absolute pressures, not on meters of depth. So they'll adopt automatically to the 4% difference between salt and fresh water.

So the only thing off is your depth indicator, e.g. if you want to use it for your tables in case of a.o. OC bailout. Most manufacturers though will calibrate in the factory for fresh water, so that it indicates a slightly bigger depth than is actual while diving salt. This only adds to safety while using tables.
Most CCR's I've seen around lately do not cater anymore for a salt/fresh setting for this reason.

Ciao,

Tino.

They'll be on Demo at the Dive Show at LIDS. The latest for delivery as far as I can tell is March / April but my guess would be April / May....

Just a couple of updates I have from contacts with Jorgen Shibaza (sorry spelt wrong) who did the design, consulting and moulding for DP Scandinavia some interesting background after June 2006 when DP Scandinavia bought Poseidon Diving Systems and started this project together with a venture capital company.

Prior to doing the design consulting and moulding work for DP Scandinavia is there previous project?

From 1995 to 2000 it was for Electrolux as project leader engineering for the electronics development of a commercial vacuum cleaner.

Again either way you are being asked to drop a considerable amount of money on a prototype, As for testing the Royal Navy don’t need goats anymore in chambers for testing. They have sheep.

Thanks for the pictures Mr. Pyro.

Where did this event take place? Did the MK6 look more like a finished product? -Andy

I didn't attend my self, found the pictures at Poseidons sebsite.
The event took place at Poseidons facilities outside Gothenburg at the westcoast of Sweden. By the looks of the photo it seems to be different colours and material in the exuipment pices beeing showed than the unit I've seen earlier. Especially the head seems to be made in a black plastic instead of the yellow used in the preprod unit. Don't take my word for it thoo. Pure speculation on my part.

I did have a chat with Sverker Palmblad thoo, at a Swedish fair where they showcased the unit earlier this year.
Acording to him they had a large order book, much larger than the preorder figures talked about in this thread.
He also confirmed that there is a more tech oriented unit coming up later on.
The unit showed was the same preproduction model as shown at DEMA.
