I don't mean to but into your private debate but thats alittle harsh, however true it is.

Whether you think Cis-Lunar copied your Navy design or not won't necessarily kill people will it?

For myself- I thank Richard for chipping in and look forward to when he has abit more time to tell us about the Cis's development.

I'm still alittle dissapointed in it, revolutionary cells and different marketing stratergy aside, I really hope they've done their homework. I really think there would have been more of a market if they'd gone after the Inspiration/Meg/KISS sales rather than hunting for their own.

Have showed their brouchure to a few Sports divers I know, everyone has wondered why it looks so unfinished (why not wait a year?) and was worried it carried so little scope for growth in the divers capability.... unless there is a Mk7 in the wings for people to "progress" to?

Ben.

Your right. In reflection I suppose it was a bit harsh, but in my defence and in keeping with the fish analogy,
Deepreef is after all a pretty big fish. LOL

Truth is I didnt know until yesterday Deepreef was Richard Pyle. so I now can understand his stance.

But this is not a home build progect, and coincidence or convergence aside Poseidon have made some pretty big and far fetching product claims, do we continue or drop? Iain Middlebrook

Re: Cis Lunar Mk 6

We should definatly continue but in all the years I have known Richard and his forum postings he has always treated everyone with respect and politeness (I am sure some remember the GI3 dialog!!) so lets treat him like that and leave any accusations of Plagerism <sp> or whatever until he has had a chance to put his side of things to the forum. I for one have loads of questions I want to ask him about the mk 6

best

Totally uncalled for.

I think people need to back off slightly here and take a deep breath.
I dont see how you can be accused of plagiarism for something that you are not even aware existed (ok I know its possible in academia at least). But as for hose angles, what about all the other DSV's using a 180 degree angle, I'm amazed the manufactures are not all suing each other.
Kidney shaped counter lungs, well they dont look exactley the same to me (Mk 4C and the Cis Mk6), just looks like that for once some one cut a shape in the lungs to make them fit better.
I tried looking for info on the Mark 4C and couldnt find any, so I dont really think there are ethical grounds for saying its been copied.
In addition to this the Cis isnt exactly muscling in the the Royal Navy's recreational rebreather market is it?

Very well worded, Dave. Please let's keep this polite and civil, folks.

Re: Cis Lunar Mk 6

Bill Stone Interview it's a little big, but I'm still trying to find the sweet spot to make it small and still look good.

I'm swamped with work right now, but this is what I could get out quickly.

I am working on Rich's interview when I can as well, so I'll get it up asap.

enjoy

Thanks, Iain -- my apologies for not making my identity more clear. I am in the habit of signing all of my emails as simply "Aloha, Rich", but my emails usually have my full signature at the bottom. I just figured out how to add a signature on my Rebreather World profile, so I hope to be a little less obscure in the future.

By all means, the discussion should continue. As I said before, I don't have the time right now to contribute as much as I want to (or should) to this thread. As also I said before, when the dust settles a bit in fish-nerd-world, I'll spend more time answering whatever questions I can.

Aloha,
Rich

P.S. There will be a new version of the whitepaper uploaded soon -- the one up there now has some typos and other things in need of fixing.

About the hose angles, ofcourse the Mark C4 copied IDA-71.
