| NA ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: MK VI Disposable cannister Ease up on the guy a little....after all...his product removes your CO2...which the last time I checked was one of the requirements of a rebreather. It will be interesting to see how the whole process works. Do you ship back your old canisters to them and receive more...kind of like NetFlix?? I guess that wouldnt be disposable would it..my bad. Any traveling will cause you to have them shipped to your destination ahead of time..and hopefully stored appropriately. I guess it works for the market its intended for, but to me I think I would be concerned if the packed canister was packed correctly. It is kind of like a bad batch of cells...some make it on out the door. However, when a bad batch of canisters make it out the door that is gonna be a big problem. I could say the same about the EAC's, but its a different media and visual inspection can be done. I hope there is someway to verify the canister received is ok to dive with...some inspection etc in addition to the pre-breathe. J |

The Micropore cartridge has real advantages, like higher resistance to caustic cocktails and no clumping when wet, keeping WOB at a level. Pre-packed granular sorb don't offer those, just ease of use and not packing the sorb wrongly. On the downside I'm sure are increased cost and more junk to dispose. Other companies tried it in the past, and quickly offered refillable canisters on customer's demand. ![]() Am curious though how "perfectly" factory packed axial, self-packed radial and the ExtendAir compare in duration, would love to see the raw data from the CE test runs. |

![]() | Re: MK VI Disposable cannister From a distribution perspective atleast, Poseidon is in a much better position than most other rebreather manufacturers as they already have a well developed reseller and distribution channel globally. Getting cannisters, be they be good or bad from a technical POV should be pretty easy. The same could be said for the training and servicing, Poseidon will just make it a part of the reseller agreement that to sell Xstream regs you also have to sell/service their rebreather. |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: MK VI Disposable cannister Dräger certainly had a head start towards everyone else on the civilian Rebreather market, Aqualung/Suunto/et al are distributed worldwide, and that didn't work out too well. Many dealers shrugged their shoulders when asked about RBs or their parts even if they could be found somewhere in their books. ![]() Dive Rite seems to have a pretty decent distribution network for their BCDs, but the O2ptima is still rather rare outside the US. Oceanic also has quite a distribution network and taken over the PRISM CCR from Steam Machines. Probably somewhere between Aqualung, and Poseidon and Dive Rite. Last but not least, APD has been distributing and selling CCRs in numbers that everyone else can only dream of, even though their dive gear, around for a few decades, isn't available globally. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: MK VI Disposable cannister I talked to a Poseidon guy in december and got the impression that they plan to use PADI resorts for distributing the cannisters. He also told me that PADI would include the unit in its training programm like they did with the Dolphin. May as well be just a rumor, of course. ![]()
