I'm sad to hear such a lot of boasting and hot air about numbers, training and availbility, I simply don't believe it. I'm very sad about this, as this promised to be a revolution and it has some very interesting developments in it. This could change the units that we dive in the future, so should be given every chance to succeed, so that others will follow. The Sentinal was only recently released yet we see and hear instructors going on training, I've met and heard from several shops and instructors who will be stocking it, we've seen the CE and Scrubber Test results, we've seen and touched the unit at many shows, we've read many internet and magazine reviews and I really do believe we'll see people diving them this summer. Considering the much larger parent company, investment and risk in the new market the Mk6 is aiming for we've seen nothing in magazines, at shows, I've not met a single instructor who knows any more about it than I can read on here... it all sounds like vapour ware right now. Anyone else think they started talking about this 1year too early? The shame about the hype and frankly poor delivery to date is that we'll throw the baby out with the bathwater - the unit will fail as a whole and the good parts will go forgotten for years. Poseidon are doing the whole industry a disservice IMHO. Launching this early before the unit and the infrastructure were in place was either an attempt to jump the gun on the opposition (Sentinel maybe?) or a crass attempt to ramp the share price by showing what they had coming. Either way, it's probably not going to do Poseidon or us any good at all.... Tuesday rant over (I'm going to restrict myself to one a day ;-) Cheers,

I had word from a most reliable source that the number of ordered units may largely pass the 1000 mark by the end of this month ![]() Please place a "swallow coffee before readong post" warning on stuff like this, so I can hold back spewing a mouthful out laughing hysterically. I mean, like, dude: I have a Toughbook, but even so... cleaning off the screen is a pain in the ass. Is it a year early? If so, they are better than most. Let's see... from the "Oceanic Phibian" announcement to the "We'll have a warmed over Prism available soon" has taken, what.... 10 years? Vaporware is part and parcel of the advertising game. Everything is announced before it's ready. 1000 units ordered.... riiggghhhttttt.................. ![]() Dave .

Yeah it will probably be easier to get a list of all the people who HAVE NOT ordered a Cis-Lunar MkVI, rather than those that HAVE. ![]() ![]() Cheers, Dave Cooper.

I would not want to end up like Bill Gates famous quote "640K ought to be enough for anybody." I certainly hope that poseidon dont end up being vaporware.

More like they need to flog 1K to break even, hopefully Dr Stone and Co have charged them heavily for their expertise ![]() I still think they've designed something for a market that doesn't exist but I would like to see it succeed and even give it a try for if nothing else they may go on to build a unit capable of a reasonable depth at a later stage (hopefully not looking like a food processor) |

![]() | Re: Mk VI preorders so far? Maybe the number is like what we have in our record industry, meaning you have "sold" gold before anyone actually have bought the record from the shipments to dealers alone... Personally I believe more on the Internet preorders number (around 150ish) than the 1000 quoted and even from those 150's, nobody have actually bought it and can still back out. I am quite interested to hear comments from Bill Stone and Richard Pyle though, as one of them (sorry can't remember which one) said in DEMA video he would put it through its paces and comment on it later. /esc |

![]() ![]() | Re: Mk VI preorders so far? Interesting Lets asume that Poseidon actualy sold 1000 units during the pre-order sales. The delivery is to be this summer. That equals 1000 Rebreather students. A epic task for a new training organization without Instructors isnt it? I think the truth is that they have sold what they think they can manage to suport Last edited by Richard Lundgren : 5th February 2008 at 19:20. |
