Re: Mk VI preorders so far?

Strange They told at Posiedon they had already much more units ordered, seems like they fed us a lie then.

Seems like there is some 100 SUCKERS who bought this toy will keep them alive.

The canister housing looks like a joke and what the hell is those 4 side steel rods doing on a scrubber design all attached in the not too sturdy Posiedon yellow regulator plastic!

Re: Mk VI preorders so far?

Hi,

Is there anybody who has some information of the scheduled delivery of the preordered Discovery reb. ?

I asked Poseidon information via email, but I didn't get back an answer yet.

They did send January 30. email titled: Mk VI progress report.

Perhaps it was grabbed by your spam filter?

They quoted end of May for scheduled delivery as of now, if nothing unexpected happens (but considering rebreathers, something propably will so take that with grain of salt).

weird, there is no training agency ready yet, so instructors have to be formed, and then they have to build experience on the units, and then they can start teaching... to who will those units be shipped??

or did I miss something???

paul... who was asked at BOOT if he could teach the MK VI :-) (I was wearing my ANDI batch)

Re: Mk VI preorders so far?

Hi folks,

I had word from a most reliable source that the number of ordered units may largely pass the 1000 mark by the end of this month (I can’t disclose the actual figure). Internet pre-order numbers do not reflect at all the number of units ordered overall.

As far as training is concerned there is a IT program scheduled for end of April. The agency RAID is well on its way to have everything ready to meet the schedule and a number of other agencies will also be offering training in due time including some of the big boys on the market. I believe all be in place to get things going by the time the first units will start to ship.

The unit looks fantastic with the canister made with the final production materials. That “toy” look some of you noticed on the prototype units displayed at tradeshows is GONE! Also a few nice new features have been added to the final version. The availability of the pre-packed cartridges is being organized worldwide so to ensure there will be no shortage of scrubber material. CE certification is also on the final steps.

Cells will be replaceable by Poseidon authorized dealers service centers.

So it looks like there may be a CCR revolution coming afterall...

Re: Mk VI preorders so far?

I'm sad to hear such a lot of boasting and hot air about numbers, training and availbility, I simply don't believe it.

The Sentinal was only recently released yet we see and hear instructors going on training, I've met and heard from several shops and instructors who will be stocking it, we've seen the CE and Scrubber Test results, we've seen and touched the unit at many shows, we've read many internet and magazine reviews and I really do believe we'll see people diving them this summer.

Considering the much larger parent company, investment and risk in the new market the Mk6 is aiming for we've seen nothing in magazines, at shows, I've not met a single instructor who knows any more about it than I can read on here... it all sounds like vapour ware right now.

Anyone else think they started talking about this 1year too early?
