Underwater Video Camera Products: I'd guess that it would be relatively easy for you to borrow or rent that from a commercial diver. I have seen great results with very small units. |

I have one of these- Chinook Sports - Digital Dive Cameras use it for video generally, not a superb camera by todays standards but I've taken it to depths and places most people shy away from with cameras. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: small camera?? gut a hand torch and put one of the pin hole surveillance/Nannie cameras in it. wire to an old battery can with the recorder in it and you have it. put a couple of spring loaded hinges on a arm with a couple of lanyards on it and you will be able to see every thing. if you are using comms all you would need is the camera and a hundred feet of wire. that is less then a hundred bucks. rick |

John, Not sure what your budget is ...private / commercial ... but if the latter this equipment works and is 40 - 50mm diameter but can see couple of metres in each direction if clear water... and probably can be run by hand on a short length of cable....rest of gear is pretty portable...couple of air boxes... I believe they have a base in Aberdeen.... Downhole Video for those in the business they have some great clips of junk lost down hole.. Best of luck, Steve Last edited by UKSteve : 15th January 2007 at 18:27. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: small camera?? i believe an canon sd elf, should do the job. it's referred to as an sd in in the US, in your neck of the woods it goes by ixus. From the SD/ixus 500 onward, canon offers a pretty high quality acrylic housings at a very reasonable price. The housing for the sd 500 is the wp dc 70. The seris is up the the sd/ixus 900/wp dc7 as of last september. the whole series takes amazing macro shots up to a half an inch away and the 900 pacs 10 megapixels, it has a bright internal flash and an iso of 1600, no need for external flash and even takes nice photos in low available light. in the housing, it's incredibly compact, you'll have to look up the exact dimensions. hope that helps.
