| Annoying fish since 1992 Current Rebreather/s: | Wide angle lens for Ikelite housing for Canon Powershot S80 I have a Canon Powershot S80 digital camera and recently bought a 60m rated Ikelite housing for it. I want to buy a wide-angle lens to add on to it (Inon or Epoque). Doe anyone have any experience with this combination or any recommendations? Thanks. |

Hi Patto_chanI want to buy a wide-angle lens to add on to it (Inon or Epoque). Doe anyone have any experience with this combination or any recommendations? Thanks. I haven't got the Canon camera but I do have an Ikelite Housing which for the purposes of this thread does have the same port. I do use the INON UWL-100 WA Wet Lens and find it very good. My issue is I have a compact camera (Oly 7070) that has Wide Zoom of 27mm and there is a lot of vignetting, in fact 25%, and the image is a fisheye and it is great for effects. I get around this by zooming in but when you look at the photos, it is just the same as not having it on. That is why I go to my Dry Lens and WA Port whcih is available for my camera and not for yours, unfortunately In your case, find out through the camera spec what the widest zoom is. If it about 25mm to 30mm, you will get a lot vignetting, the ideal zoom setting should about 35mm. You will get some vignetting, mainly in the corners, but nothing that cropping cant fix in Photoshop. ![]() |
