Replacement HID Bulb for a Greenforce Impact 100

Hi Folks

The HID bulb in my Greenforce Impact 100 has sadly expired, this saddened me greatly, but not as much as finding out how much I was going to have to fork out to replace it. £180

Anyone out there got any contacts that could improve on the price

They use a Brightstar bulb, you may have luck in the hiddivelights group on yahoo.

I contacted Brightstar and got a price list, if the bulb is indeed a Brightstar unit someone is having a good grink on importing them! When I bought the Greenforce unit a few years back it ws the best of the bunch- the brightest torch with the smallest battery pack, but with teh cost of repalcement bulbs being so great and technology having moved on, I contacted Barrie at Divertec to see if it eas possible to modify the Greenforce and fit a Solus light engine. This want a runner and I opted to buy a 100o light head, Kevin at Solus( being the helpful sort of guy he is) attached the Greenforce Battery pack cable gland to the Solus cable.

After diving with it I have to say its a superb piece of engineering which is pretty much bomb proof. The light output is a similar narrow white beam to the HID but is considerably brighter

when compared with the Impact 100 (I know theres a difference in Wattage between the two). If I were buying an new umblical this is definatly the way to go. The initial purchase price may be higher than a comparable HID but blowing a HID bulb or two will take care of that
