Curt it seems a little suspicious the one of your ADM photographers (Robyn Churchill ) listed on your website is submitting photos in the contest. I was first alerted to this when I submitted a photo in the February contest . My photo had more votes compared to the photo that won , http://www.advanceddivermagazine.com...nners.aspagain a staff member. Am I to assume this is the way you pay your photo staff

or can we really win .

by the way I love the ADM and eagerly await my free subscription for Instructors.

Robyn is not a paid staff photographer, she is a free lance photographer who DONATES her work to ADM. I list her as an ADM Photographer out of thanks for her hard work and dedication to both diving and ADM. Listing her helps her make connections around the globe for trips, equipment sponsors etc...

One thing is for sure, You cannot win if you do not submit. I pick the photos fairly, if you do not believe me, then please dont submit.

Anyone who is a good photographer and can produce is more than welcome to work with ADM.

Just a quick note: Its not a free subscription, its a free copy. After the one free copy if you wish to subscribe please do. Every penny helps pay my $20,000 printing bill every issue.

The votes your speaking of are derived from others looking at the photos and voting. maybe its only 1 person voting a 9 or 100 people voting a mixture of numbers.

I am the person who takes a very long look at all the photos, Being a professional photographer I select the best photo that I feel was the best.

Its not always the best looking photo or the one with the most votes. It can be a photo that turned out OK but taken in a very difficult environment, as in the last months winner. Or a photo with the proper exposure over the whole scale of the photo. Or a photo of an amazing event that is very difficult to capture on film. Or a photo that is difficult to take due to minimal lighting or large size, as in many deep water shipwrecks.

I am 100% honest on my selection, why because I want new photographers to win. I am paying out the money anyway.

Curt, I simply made an observation that the vote count on the photos was how the winners were chosen. I did not realize that you your-self made the the decision as to who was the winner.

why have the votes counted and displayed ? it would appear to be the festering pimple on the ass of progress.

My web designer put that there so others can interact on the site. I think the software comes that way?

The photographer, They are to low of a resolution for me to use, other than the web site.

By submitting, the photographer agrees to allow ADM to use it on ADM On-Line, if needed. I dont think I have ever used any of them because I have a giant stock photography pile from ADM's Main Photographers and myself.

If I were to use them, they probably would be in something simple like a photo mozaic etc for a banner or ADM web ad?
