Copyright theft....... RIGHT HERE!!!!!

Hi Guys,

Well, as usual over my cornflakes, I click on the relevant bit on my mouse to see what Rebreather World has to offer. The opening page pops up with the usual random images from the gallery. Only today there is a difference. The images are mine!! And they have another persons name attached to them!!

The poster in question is Dragon2115. He/She/It has posted five images lifted from my web site. I formally request that these images, as posted by dragon2115 are removed from Rebreather World.

I feel a tad pissed about this as these are images that have got commercial value. They are images that I have sold on a single specified use non transfer of copyright basis, and that I, as the photographer, hold the copyright on. That customer was in Australia. Dragon2115 is in Massachusets. That customer also posts on here as Cameron (Hi Cameron!!). I also own and have on a hard drive less than a metre away, the original RAW files.

If you want to look at a decent version of the image, go look on my web site!!

If you want a copy of one for wall paper, ASK.

But to have them ripped off and waved on front of me over my cornies is taking the piss. Although I do realise that Rebreather World (Stuart et al) have to trust that posters of pictures are not breaking the law, I can feel a f*****g good rant coming on............

On a serious note- I thought that after the last move on the servers it screwed up the names on the pictures and was randomly assigning pictures to people in the gallery. Can the moderators confirm this? That was my understanding-

Did you try an pm Dragon2115 and ask him to remove them? Everytime I have caught someone using my stuff without asking I have either PM's or E-mailed them and asked. I have never had anyone say no.

Hi folks,

indeed a large part of the gallery got screwed up when we moved servers. Not all images, but some, posted during a certain period of time. Beanie took over the gallery as admin and we sppend hours sifting through it. I recognized quite some of the images and either remembered who they came from or that they were wrongly credited. Beanie even had a thread where he asked members to check their galleries and see if images were missing or other credited that didn't belong there.

So I'm asking you again, check your galleriy and see if images are missing or other credited that don't belong there.
If you do find something and are in a hurry pm me. If it can wait till Beanie gets back from his trip please pm him. Preferably with a link to the gallery or image.

Pete, did you ever post the pictures in your gallery?
Then I'll move them back into yours, otherwise I'll delete them.

I believe Shylock (EBT) has already taken care of this. They are to be deleted.

I still can't figure how Dragon2115 should have "stolen" them from you,
since they were posted months after he logged on last summer.

You sure you didn't post them or allow some else to?
They were from the Solomon Islands and kinda looked like pictures
one would use in a trip report ...

Upon review of my gallery I discovered 2 images that were not mine, they were deleted. I also PM'd the person who currently displays my images.

This seems to be more of a server misunderstanding than theft or copyright infringement.

I do share your frustration and concern with regard to general Internet infringements.
