Housing for Nikon 70DS?

I would like to buy a housing for my Nikon D70 S.
I would like something waterproof at least up to the 100 meters.
Do you known something valid?

Thanks
Aldo

Check out the Aquatica D-70 housing. It's rated to 90 meters and is what I use. I love it!

Re: Housing for Nikon 70DS?

UK Germany here do a housing for the Nikon D70 - is that the same?
Rated to 80m, but might be worth talking to Uwe who runs it, could be ok deeper, they make well engineered stuff.

I've been using the aquatica d70 housing for the last two years and have routinely had it past 100m, its a wonderful housing. Do a comparison of prices of Subal/Seacam/Light and Motion and you will be pleasantly surprised. There are some give and takes with what housing is right for you; if you are accounting for ergonomically sound engineering, robustness, depth capabilities and price the only one that shines through that I'm aware of is aquatica.

I've had my aquatica d70 housing for almost 2 years. The first one started chipping paint under the dome port. Called aqautica and they assured me it wasn't an issue, but could cause a flood if a paint chip should work it's way under the dome port o-ring. Since I was about ready to go on a trip Aquatica instructed me on how to safely remove the paint under the dome port as a temporary solution. When I returned back from my trip, they replaced the housing, no charge. Apparently they changed the process of painting the housings so the paint wouldn't chip. Now that's customer service. I've used my housing in a variety of conditions and depths to 300 feet. I would buy it again.

Re: Housing for Nikon 70DS?

I am using the Nexus D70s housing. With the solid back it is rated to 100M. I am happy with the ergonomics and they offer an attachment for the viewfinder to magnify it a bit so you can see a wide angle field of view better.

Re: Housing for Nikon 70DS?

Aldo I would seriously consider the Aquatica or the Hugyfot Housings. I personally am using the Aquatica for my D70 and have set a number of people up with them...but I am also a big fan of the Hugyfot and have a D200 housing coming from them shortly.

Let me know if you have any specific questions or if I can help in anyway.

Hi Aldo

You should consider looking at Sealux housings, they have some great features too. www.sealux.de
I have an order for the D200 housing and even though that the viewfinder on the D200 camera is considrebly larger than that on D70 series, I still went for the big GD viewfinder on the housing.
Being able to see in detail everything in the viewfinder is the best possible feature that a housing may posess, IMHO.
That, and some good optical ports.

Pressure ratings are good, but I can say that my old Sea & Sea housing for F100 was only rated for 75meters, I would not hesitate to take it to about 100-120m.

regards
Johnny

Re: Housing for Nikon 70DS?

Hi. I am interested in a second hand D70s housing, does anyone have one going at a reasonable price. Perhaps you are upgrading to a D200 and have no need for your D70s housing?
