![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | video system recommendations Hello all, I'm looking for a video system and housing (budget $2000)...Depth to 100m ideal, but I'd settle for 80m. A key feature is teh ability to hardwire in audio input. Is anyone aware of any systems that have an audio in port? regards Mike

Basic audio (or video, for that matter) is just a signal that can be carried on a two-lead wire. On my Gates A1U housing, I have a wet-plug hydrophone that Gates custom made for me that I use for recording cetacean sounds. If I was not using my external monitor, I could have also used the Impulse wet-plug connector that is already installed for the video output.

![]() | Re: video system recommendations Hi, When do you need the camera system? We are in the process of developing a number of housing systems for the Tech market that we be very robust with good depth capability. We have a larger housing intended for Broadcast / Semi pro camera system and one for smaller very good HD camera. Depending upon your time requirements we may be able to help you. We have a policy of extensive testing prior to release of any products and should based on our current schedule and dives planned should have something available Q4 this year. |

![]() | Re: video system recommendations Aloha Mike, I use several different types of housings while shooting video. My light & motion is good but you will have an issue getting a wet plug for it. However, I love my Amphbico and they have no issue setting up special fittings. Again, a lot depends on the type of camera you are looking at too. The smaller ones may be more problematic. I work closely with Amphibico for my housing and Keldan for my lights and have been extremely happy with both. If I can help you with either, please let me know. HawaiianHarry |

This is the setup I'll be using on my next system. Also I will have a standard def system for sale soon; PD170, Gates Housing, large video monitor, SWP 120° Fathom Imaging port and a 10 to 1 diopter tele-macro port which is extremely rare and an incredible lens for macro. |

If you are looking for a Camera, Housing & lighting system that is high quality you are way above that number. Amphibico makes great stuff, but they are not cheap. Their low end stuff starts at $2,550.00 CDN.... That's for the housing only. Richie |
