Can you point out to me which PADI qualification I can get for that? Is it one of the AOW experience dives

Looks wonderful.

Cheers,

Question Re: Winter mine diving can be strenuous :)

Is the water fresh? And do you get much silt in there? It looks so clear!

Water is fresh and the viz is usually really good. The open water (now under ice) has usually 10-15m horizontal viz. In mining tunnels it varies from typical 10-15m to 3m and +30m...

There is some silt on the floors in most places and also some in the roof. Most roofs are clean after good beating of exhaled gas. RBs are good in that sense that when you visit new places you donīt get the silt of the roofs.

Don't tell anyone. People may interpret it the other way around. Tech agencies may get inspired. Before you know some authority will pick up and forbid you to enter the site because you dont have this night-ice-cave-breather card (breather specific of course ).

Anyway I'll think of this post the next time I claim (on a cold day) I can't find the allegedly present attribute I use to dehydrate after a dive

Re: Winter mine diving can be strenuous :)

You know if you put a boat on the ice and do a backroll then you can also get the Boat Diver cert, just don't forget your mooring line so the boat doesn't drift away.

But man it looks cold, and to think I was a little envious, I mean right now I'm planning a 3 hour dive for tomorrow with possible humpback sightings in cold 75 degF water with 100+' of vis. I'll be wearing my hood and wishing for my drysuit. Time to go pack the scrubber.
