If it is video, you going to need hardware in a form of a Video Capture Card if you haven't got one already, they come with a USB interface - plug and play. You then play the video through the card capture it using the video editing software. In terms of capturing, that Sony software if it is the same one as I am thinking of will do the job. In terms of Software try: Pinnacle Pinnacle Systems, the leader in video editing, TV tuners for the PC, and digital media adapters Adobe Premiere Adobe - Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Ulead Video Studio Video editing software: Ulead VideoStudio - Home Hope this helps |

![]() | Re: video editing software If you have mac then get final cut express or final cut pro. If you don't have a mac then save your pennies and get a mac. For the cost of a PC to run decent software you will be able to get a mac with the software that will do a much better job. Any befor any one shoots me down i have used both PC and mac to edit video and the mac is the clearly better choice! just my 2 cents ![]() |

The newer ones (Intel Chips) run Windows better than a lot of the PC's out there as a bonus. No virus or spyware issues. BTW, iMovie, which comes with the Mac does a very good job of editing. Final Cut Pro has a long learning curve and is really for Pro editing. Final Cut Express is a nice compromise, but also has a bit of a learning curve. You can get great results with iMovie in a very short period of time. Richie |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: video editing software I'm using Sony Vegas Pro and also Cineform NEO HDV for editing high-definition video. I tried Adobe Premiere, but didn't like it much. For an example, have a look at the video that I posted in this thread. |

![]() | Re: video editing software Most of the software out there has a little bit to a big learning curve. Depends what your looking to do.If you dont want anything fancy and just want to dump video to dvd... imovie, avid, any of those will work. If you want to get serious, I agree with most of the other posts, you'll want a nice mac with final cut pro or software of your choice. Are you shooting HD or SD? |
