![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | New Sony HD video camera I had a chance to touchy-and-feely the new Sony HD camera in Singapore. Must admit that it is tiny (by comparison for HD-type camera) and has all of the nice to die-for features (i.e. shoot high resolution stills while still running in video mode, for example) Does anyone know if there is a housing for this video camera yet ? Looking for electronic housing like L&M or Amphibico for the 100m-depth... In addition, does anyone know if it will fit inside the L&M Stingray-II housing ? The height of the lens looks a little low so without having my housing here for direct comparison, I can't tell how it fits. If it is a little low, it won't be a problem making a step-up adapter IF the camera doesn't hit the top of the housing. I know we have a couple of L&M reps here on Rebreather World so hope to get some guidance. |

Got any pictures? I am guessing one of the generic housings from www.usvh.com will fit it, as long as it has a LANC port... A HD cam would have one wouldnt it....Does anyone know if there is a housing for this video camera yet ? Looking for electronic housing like L&M or Amphibico for the 100m-depth... Andy

I have had the UVHS housing, it is not rated to 100m.And the HC-1 is about 1/4 of the size of the previous Sony HD version HC-1000. Sorry to be brief, I am on free I-cafe in Changi Airport. |

I could have sworn when I bought my USVH housing it was rated to 120m. I have just been looking around their site to find a depth rating, but cant find one. Looks like it might have been removed. In any case, this housing is substantially more solid than most of them. Just looking at it, I cant see any reason why it shouldnt survive 100m. 3/8ths thick aluminium walls, 3/8ths thick perspex. No holes, pure electronic, just two main o rings. I dont think any manufacturer would rate their housing over 100m. Hey, just get some real good flood insurance and off you go ![]() Andy

I think this camera would look awfully nice in the little Bluefin that was used for the TRV-950 & HC1000, w/ manual white balance hacked through lanc... Hopefully Light & Motion will announce something soon ![]() |
