Re: Pelagian Konfigurations?? Pics!

Hello Johan,

I have just taken a few pictures of my Pelagian which you might find helpful. I have this set up with Inspiration 3L cylinders.

There are a few differences to standard which I have found to work well.

Firstly I have fitted a Rebreather Guardian HUD which is driven from all three cells. It shares the first two cells with the Pelagian display and the third cell just drives the HUD but there is a Fischer connector built into the HUD control box to output the third cell to a dive computer. I use an X1 which does not yet have an O2 feed, but one is due later this year. I had Uri (the Rebreather Guardian designer) program the HUD so that it ties in with a target PO2 of 1.2.

The second is that I have used two 60cm hoses (with the necessary adaptors) with a flow stop 'in the middle' for the ADV feed. This creates a loop which comes over my shoulder and returns under my arm back to the head. This places the flow stop just in front of the left CL and within easy reach. This works well but I intend to find a simple gas block which would allow both hoses to route together (like the O2 feed) and simply go over my left shoulder in the same way as the O2 feed.

I have used a y block to take both the wing inflator and the BOV hoses from a single port on the first stage.

Based on Andy's suggestion I have inverted the first stages and have used pivots in the first stage to route hoses where they need to go without having any big loops. This keeps the whole rig streamlined and neat.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer.

You can see the y block on the right in this shot

Hi.

The ADV flow stop is a nice thing. Wath type of "block" are you looking fore? I like you solution on the flow stop where did you get the 60cm hoses? it would be nice with a gasblock insted of the "inflator" conections.. but until a nice gasblock apears :-)

I'm intrested in the Y-block and the pivots--- wher did you get them ??
Looks like they are robust built...

Thanks.

I have an ali OMS backplate on this rig. I also have a stainless steel backplate with harness already attached which I can use for drysuit diving where I need more ballast. I need to carry about 2kg lead with a 3mm full wetsuit and the ali plate, so I would imagine that with the ss plate and the same suit I would be about right with no additional weights. The ali plate is better for travelling of course.

Johan, the y block and swivels, and all theadaptors I needed were ordered here on the Rebreather World store. Look under Omniswivl Fittings and you will find them. You are right, they are all beautifully engineered.

I think I may be able to do what I want with the ADV supply by blanking off the single port on another Y block. I will try this and if it works I will post a picture.

Hoses are Miflex miflexhoses.co.uk. They are very tough, flexible and light. Come in black, blue and yellow and they will make up custom sizes. I intend replacing most of my hoses with these once I have completely settled on the configuration.
