Some pics from my unit, while beeing built. The worn needle valve in pic 1 and 3 is just a dummy for the photo...

Re: New 02 block

Thanks for the photos Johan . Has the new 02 block done away with the loop of hose and hose clamps that were on the old type?? Also how do you find diving with a needle valve? I am thinking of putting one on my Kiss.

No probs :-)

Yes they are gone. The new block is a lot more clean and has a very professional look to it. (Hey, Andy, u know where to send the cash...)

We'll I'm pretty new to Rebreather's, but I realy can't find any dissadvantage of having a needle valve.
It's nice to be able to fine tune the flow to a level just below your current metabolic rate and then be able to change it when the conditions of the dive changes.

So far I pretty much leave it on the same value during the bottom phase and increase it slightly when I start the ascent. But I haven't donne any realy challenging dives so far.

It's also feels safe to be able to change the flow during the dive in case of some dust or paint-flake, obstructing the flow of O2 thrue the needle/orifice.

Go for a needle valve

Re: New 02 block

Which hose feeds into the block from the first stage and which feeds back to the head?? I am trying to work out what fittings I'll need to put one on my Kiss.

In picture no:2 the first hose is the feed from the 1st stage (the one with the inflator quick connector)
The second hose is has the same hose, but the connector is in the other end where it's connected to the head of the Pelagian.
Don't take my word for it but I belive the connectors are inflator ones, better ask the pros :-)
