![]() ![]() | Current Cost? Anyone know the current price of the Pelagian, and what the cost would be to have a 3 PPO2 monitor included as opposed to just 2? Thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Current Cost? Hello, Current price is £2900 or $5800 (the US peso seems to fluctuate daily )There is a place in the lid for a 3rd o2 cell and the cable has spare capacity too...currently users are using a vr3 or similar to read the 3rd cell. I can ask Andy from rebreatherlab how much he thinks machining a longer handset to hold the 3rd display will be. Any idea why you would want a third display? considering that there are no voting electronics to neccesitate the 3rd readout. If a user suspects a bad cell doing a slow adv trigger will show you which cell is in error and also blow any moisture of all cells involved maybe even fixing the situation. The two handset cells can of course be crossed checked against a vr3/Hse if fitted Andy is best guy to ask about costings for a 3 cell readout in one unit lets see what he says cheers...Mark congrats to John and Iona who completed their Pelagian course last weekend in Capenwray Last edited by Inspired Trainer : 28th November 2007 at 18:02. |

Anyone know the current price of the Pelagian, and what the cost would be to have a 3 PPO2 monitor included as opposed to just 2? Thanks about 6 months ago it was around 6 K USD. From my understanding of the philosophy and trends in mCCR's, a place for a third cell was added but not an additional display. I believe the reasoning behind this is that there is a strong sentiment among mCCR divers that having a third fully independent po2 display, one of their own choice, is of greater value than having a third version of the same design which all too often shares the same battery and is thus not truly independent. imho, g

I have been running this wtih a VR3 & Shearwater HUD with good success, but understand that some people wouldn't be comfortable with only the HUD. Sorry for a bit of newbee question.. Is it possible to have both a HUD and a Shearwater Pursuit or VR3/HS-Explorer hooked up to a cell in the pelagian while keeping two cells reserved for the original controler. Doesn't one need four cells for a setup like this? Is there some type of cell splitter/amplifier or is the current of one cell strong enough to produce readings for two diffrent devices? | Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Current Cost? Depends on how the electronics are set up and how you're wiring it. The Universal Rebreather Monitor from DeltaP can be had for a single cell with HUD and 2 HP sensors so the VR3 will do deco on that cell, signal deco and pO2 warnings on the HUD and display the tank pressures. $$$$$ but available. If the Pelagian doesn't work with something else hooked to the cells, you could just hook up a HUD on the one cell that signals the actual pO2, rather than just a warning. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Current Cost? My understanding is that the shearwater HUD requires being hooked up to 3 cells. The GF can be hooked up with 3 or 2. The GF/pursuite and HUD can be hooked up in paralell on all 3 cells...not sure if there are enough ports in the head to do this and still have the stock po2 meter hooked up on the pelagian. the way i did it on my Copis was to leave the stock handset in place but "mothballed"...no battery and not hooked up to the cells but ready for to be hooked if the GF or HUD went south on a remote trip. My rule of thumb is to always have 2 different po2 displays to compare, with two truly separate batteries. You can view the installation here to check out how I hooked up the molex in parallel; Installation of the Shearwater GF and HUD to the Copis Megalodon Rebreather - a photoset on Flickr g

![]() ![]() | Re: Current Cost? Well done John and Iona for passing the course. I couldn't help but notice the strange positioning of your wing inflator hoses; is this the normal position when front mounted counterlungs are used ? I have a KISS, so have no experience with front mounted lungs......just curious. |
