Hud on Pelagian?

Hello Andy.
Just thinking;Would it be possible to build a Shearwater HUD in the Pelagian???

See you in a couple of months.

Re: Hud on Pelagian?

That is what I'm doing this evening....

I'm replacing the standard displays with the HUD. Once could also go in through the PG7 hole Andy offers for VR3 connection.

Re: Hud on Pelagian?

7 dives so far, and I'm a happy guy. Nothing at all wrong with the stock displays, they were phenomenally reliable for somewhere over a hundred dives, but I was scaring myself by not checking them often enough so I needed something that was a bit more in your face.

The shearwater hud works with my brain. Might not work for everyone, but I totally grasp the display/alarm concept.

If you want to replace it the stock display, spec it from Bruce w/ a 1/4" NPT STRAIGHT fitting! It will screw in the existing hole the Pelagian displays use.

I had to drill a hole in the corner of the dsv to attach the arm that supports the hud, and attach it with a small self tapping screw.

Ryan,

Are those 40cf AL tanks ?

Looks like the scrubber diameter is about the same as the tank diameter ?

Actually 13 cu. ft. aluminium Phi....

No breakthrough, even in some "challenging" current pushing around big cameras. Perfect trim, too.

Wow, that's pretty small and compact. Thanks Ryan!

Man, I wish there is an economically-feasible way to piece all of the parts I like together into a single unit without having to buy everything and throw away pieces I don't like...

Hi Ryan,

How does the instant cell validation work without the Pelagian original display?

I found the VR3 a bit too slow to pick up unless you happen to be very near the depth where the DIL FgO2 matches the set point.

Of course you could do it over two or three breaths to allow time for the update...

Andy

Phi,

The scrubber diameter is 140 mm, but as the Rebreather X-wing plate follows the angle of your back plate you can use up to 80 cu.ft. tanks and still have the same top profile as the scrubber which might be nice for squeezing through restrictions.

Andy
