I plate mount my air-gone and its fine, you can just about see it on my profile pic (on the right as you look at the picture). Failing that, you could always mount it on the waist strap, but I find it gets in the way there. /Z

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Argon bottle attachment Andy You mentioned you had the bottom clip rather than the 2 side clips for the Boris cover. If you wanted to follow Frankie's idea it can be easily changed, just ask James at CCRB I am sure he could send you an extra clip (at a price!). It would just mean drilling a few tiny holes on each side of the box, easy. Whilst I agree topping up sidies is a pain, the reason I do not use small tanks for the dry suit is (apart from one more thing to go wrong) I have a tendency to only rememebr to clip it onto my back plate when I am already kitted up, which is a real pain on a rib! I prefer big, simple and stupid.... Frankie, just one question: Can you actually get to you isolation slide when you have the bottom tank fitted and you have your side mounts on? Rgds Fil |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Argon bottle attachment Andy Looking at your picture in your post. It looks like you are mounting the BC / Dry suit inflation bottle right next to your Dill tank. It almost looks like it’s sitting 90 degrees from your on board tank. I could clearly see that could be a problem with three stage / bail out bottles. I mounted the two little tanks very close to my case. There practically behind my on board tanks. I can easily get to the valves but to be honest I don’t have enough dives in the configuration to commit. I’m guessing in mounting the tanks like I have them they wouldn’t interfere with three extra bottles. I very rarely dive with three O/C Bail out bottles. On the Deep stuff I do we almost all ways ditch an extra 80 of bottom mix at the anchor line. In that case we just hip clip it and don’t swim around on the wreck with it. In the states we always have to stay married to the anchor / tie in line for descents and ascents. That’s the way boat Captains do things here. I’ve heard how things are in the UK and I’m very jealous and would love to just shoot a bag after the dive and ascend On dives deeper then 250 feet we dive in pairs so two guys with four 80’s (or four 40’s) I feel is comfortable and sufficient for bail out. In regards to hoses I completely agree if you got too many it could be a cluster F*** so. I guess each guy has to decide what’s the best configuration for them self. I have rubber tubing around my harness and run some of the hoses through there to keep it organized and stream lined. I dived my bail out bottle in a side mount configuration yesterday and I have to admit it is the most streamline way of diving. If you have never tried it with a stage bottle I could see attaching a third or four bottle could be easily accomplished. If I get my girlfriend drunk I’ll gladly get her to pose with the kit on and show you pictures of how I run my hoses. Some times you see something that someone does and you get an idea. Best of luck. Fil I can easily get to the shut offs with my stage bottles on and a tank installed to that butt mount. I personally feel side mounting a Dry suit / BC inflation bottle or torch battery canister to the side of your back plate or waist strap is the best and most streamline. But….I can’t get to my shut offs if I put those items there. So that’s why I’m mounting things in a different location. This picture shows where I mount my touch battery pack. I also helps the kits trim. Cheers and Happy New Year Frankie Last edited by Frankie Pellegrino : 31st October 2007 at 00:59. |
