triple display

Hi, I have a question for you Boris pilots. The VR3-cased triple display on the Boris as I understand it is connected to the cells via the battery compartment(?)
1. how is it powered?
2. does it connect to a computer system or is the circuitry internal to the display?
3.could it be modified for a mCCR home build for a display?
thanks in advance,
JD

I think there is some confusion here, by triple display I assume you mean the secondary, this casing has the battery installed internally a la VR3. The primary display's wiring routes out through where the VR3's battery would be, hence the confusion. The wiring from the cells goes to a potted circuit board, the signal is then split with one channel going directly to the secondary display, the other going to the electronics POD.

so do you think that there would be a way to use the secondary as a primary on a homebuild? I take it I would still need the electronics to make this work with a non-Boris.

In theory it should work, I'm not sure what you'd do about termination though as I'm not an electronics chap. The secondary display only gives PO2 and Mv so only a direct feed from the cells is required, calibration is done by means of screwing the potentionometers (sp?) in/out to match primary readings.

All I need is PPO2, mV is a bonus. Im gonna have to visit a Boris in person, maybe at the London dive show? I dont know anyone who has one, so that will have to do. Thanks

Re: triple display

the secondary Boris display was talked about being used as the new displays for the kiss so there will be no bother using it for a home build.
kind regards john routley

but no-one knows when that will be, it will be for use on my CK as a backup now that I found out (after buying one) that the Subsea isnt compatable with the Shearwater.

Re: triple display

John
If you don't have luck with the Boris secondary I know Sartek (Sartek Industries Home Page) in long Island New York makes a triple independent PPO2 display. They say it would run continuously for almost two weeks on a nine volt battery. It's very small and looks well built. I know Carl and he makes great products!
Best of luck Frankie

Re: triple display

Try the Sartek tripple display - it is compatible with the Shearwater - see Decoweenie YBOD Shearwater thread: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/inspi...ater-ybod.html
