Ouroboros Course with Phil Short

Just bought a Boris (78) and completed the course with Phil Short - Made the mistake of pressing Phil into a 4 day course in a week that he had to travel to the States on a cave course - 600+ mins in water then theory, exam and all in crap cold weather down at Stoney

Mistake number 2 - I though that no one would want to stay in the water too long in that cold. Wrong!! - Phil is absolutely impervious to cold! A quick thanks to god for giving him a bladder and an appetite for hot chocolate

Extremely impressive unit that performed beyond my wildest expectations, I would recommend to any-one. Incredibly well thought out, and engineered better than anything I have seen – Very difficult to describe until you have tried one

A genuine thanks to Phil for a tough, but thorough course at which I learned many things, not just the Boris but other things that I should have been doing for years – I feel very comfortable with the thought of such a unit coupled with a high level of training

Also thanks to Jason for dealing with a problem (generated by my impatience) so quickly and efficiently (turn-around time: 1 day)

Thumbs up Re: Ouroboros Course with Phil Short

Well done Jim, I too did my course in 4 days and it took another 2 for me to thaw out afterwards so I know how it feels. The factory support is consistently good and Phill will also help out as best he can.

Re: Ouroboros Course with Phil Short

Well done for surviving Phil and Stoney Pond

Have fun with Boris, but remember that even me after 400h on the unit I'm still learning

Well done Jim, welcome to the Boris World.
I will meet Phil in march/april and I'm scared...
But this time we will OC dive in some of the south Switzerland's gorges and
there is really cold, will see...

Well done, Jim!

I'm another survivor of a Phill Short Ouroboros course at Stoney Cove. I did mine in March this year and the water temperature was a chilly 5 degrees.

Re: Ouroboros Course with Phil Short

Well done Jim indeed,

Golum certainly puts you through a good drilling and anyone having done a course with Phil, no matter how many hours in the water, comes away having learnt something new, pushed their comfort zone and had a great time!

Phil is the only person I know that can be heard quite clearly shouting through a reg on the bottom!

A legend!

I dive with several people who do that (myself included). One was so loud that the Royal navy complained that she damaged some high-power sonar equipment ;-)
