Finally I said myself, what the hell, take this unit and stop! Nad

Ok, just finished some dives. Also 3.5hours is kinda short - compared to other units is there a more reasonable 'unofficial' scrubber lifetime? in the same way the MK15.5 is rated at 300 mins at 90m, people regularly run it for twice that long albeit they are not staying at 90m the whole duration .Magnific: when I disassembled it, it was dry, beside some drops. I did around 4 hours in 3 days, max depth 30 m. Just rinsed the mouthpiece and hoses between dives, that's it. The unit is working so smooth. Mike at the thickest point the unit is around 24 cm 62 cm High 17 cm the less thick point 41 cm width Nad

Well, I received the DVD from a friend who went to Inner-Space 2005. After reviewing it and seen different divers with the O-bus (Kevin Gurr) and CK (Kim ?), it looks to me that the O-bus is a lot bigger. All right, if you take one dimension (say thickness at 17cm/6.7in), it might be close, but overall volume of the O-bus is huge. Looking from the back of the diver gives the impression of a "spare tire on the back end of a SUV"... ![]()

I must admit Im having a very hard time seeing the advantage of the Boris over the MK15.5/MK16. Its more complicated, has more to go wrong, Its bigger, has a shorter (stated) duration, less proven (new so no track record yet). Ok it has integrated deco - but thats no biggy to me. Some might assume parts are easier to get - but thats maybe not true as there are several sources of MK15.5 parts and all parts are available or can easily be fabricated. Still Im waiting to hear back from the good Doc - I am still hoping (because I like buying new gear ) for a compeling argument as to why I should swap.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The thing that I don't like about the O-bus is it seems to be going down the same path as the Cis - require the owner to send the unit back to the manufacturer every 2 years for check-up (that's I heard ?). On the Cis, the computer locks up so you MUST send it back since it is not diveable. Is it the same for the O-bus ? If/when the manufacturer goes bust, who will be around to unlock your unit for you ? I know Kevin is doing it now for the Cis, but it was flounder around for a few years before they made the deal with Kevin.
