![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Swage Lock - Which way round I need to get the swage lock set but see CCRB set looks expensive and I am looking for 'extra bits' as well so am looking at alternatives but would like to understand a few questions: - Is there a set (recommended) flow direction i.e. Male to Female or vise versa for the connectors? - CCRB sell male to female flow right? - Do the set CCRB sell come with caps for the male connector? (I noted that it is real easy to depress the male (when unconnected) causing free flow from the stages). - If not are they easily available? - If the male connector was plugged in the reverse way (i.e. on the Ouroborus block), if the male was depressed (when not plugged into then female connector) would water enter the block and or even loop (I say block yes, loop no)? - In salt water would this damage the block in any way? Many thanks. Fil |

There is a make of connector, Parker hanifin I think that actually expels water as you connect the two halves. Not sure if Nick Jewson is on this board but I think he has a set on his Cis HTH Dave |

I attached an image taken from the swagelok catalog showing the flow direction.Caps for both end of the Quick Connect (stem and body) area available from Swagelok. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Thanks. From what I can understand the SESO diagram shows female to male flow, which agrees with DAve's comments, right? So why does CCRB put it in reverse?? Fil |

Also, the guys who dived the MK-15 units when I first get into CCR were doing the same with QC-4.The only possible explanations I could think of are:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Thanks matey ....Having the more robust female part knocking around on my stage seems to make more sense...... Keep in mind that the connecting hose on the stage is kept in place via bungie just like the LP hose feeding the reg. Once the stage is clipped, there is very little banging if you keep the connecor in the good location.Plus the tip is kept from getting pushed in as well since it is parallel to the hose. On the PVR, the switch-block has the connectors are 90-deg angle on the hip. So if the male connector is there and unplugged, it will get more bumps and the tip will get pushed in. Just my personal experience...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Hi Fil, Use to have QC4 on my Boris, now I have moved to QC6 with male stem on the gas connector and female on stage, this respect the flow as Swagelok recommendation. Will add pictures tonight! Cheers,
