We can say that yes, but they too have to live ... F ![]() For the hoses you can go to push-on PB4 styles connections (SS-TA4), you can have different colors in hoses and can cut then at your desired length.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Hi Fil, Please do! I would be very interested in part number too (to get them ordered)Use to have QC4 on my Boris, now I have moved to QC6 with male stem on the gas connector and female on stage, this respect the flow as Swagelok recommendation. Will add pictures tonight! Cheers, Phi...My only experience with the male hose connector plugged to a stage was to half empty a mate's bottle (over exaguration) by pushing another bottle up against it (yes he had left his bottle open, but to be able to depress the nipple so easily seems a little problematic.... Sure, I understand.I don't know why I even try to explain the thinking behind the way it was done since, to be honest, I never knew it was not the recommended flow direction from Swage-Lok until recently. It was 8 years ago when I was taught that way (i.e. my first Rebreather), and a good DIR-wannabe doesn't question if it was "doing it right"... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round just a quickie.... flow from female to male I run a 15.5 and have put QC6 connectors on it - male on the unit - have also put some half turn valves in line - make sure you get the DSEO valves they are manifolded at the back of the - I run dual offboard connectors as I dont want to be plugging and unplugging thins U/W - most dives I only have one dil. Only very deep dive I run 2 Soooooo to get off board gas INTO the unit I have to turn whitey valve to offboard turn on half turn valve turn on cylinder sounds like a lot but not relly considering you are "mainly" switching offboard gas on ascent for deco optimisation, and this "should" be faily slow and deliberate. I can leave the cylinders on so if need OC bailout fast then it is available then still have to turn on 2 valves in order to get gas into the breather - I have heard a few nasty stories of switching blocks and personally feel that this is a bit more of a fail safe way to do things. But horses for courses. See the pic - nice and easy to reach Steve L |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Hi Fil, I have created a web page on my site which describe the QC6 on Boris, with part numbers, the idea of using QC6 came after speaking with Jérome "Snoopyloop". I wanted to be able to a use a standard connection for offboard and OC. Jérome was kind enough to send me some pictures of his setup and mine is very similar. So reward goes to him! Rebreather Phil - Boris QC6 OffboardInspiration Cheers,

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Swage Lock - Which way round Thanks Phil Yer Jerome is the man but he is off getting wed and I'm bored! He mentioned the flow direction and was interested in why CCRB decided to ignore it. I don't won't to hassle Jerome too much so thought I would 'try' and track things down on my own. Rgds F |
