OMS wing, and upgrades in general

I just heard that the new OMS wing is now available. My CD one has been back a couple of times (last time because it punctured) and also I've had to change on the power inflate for an old Diverite one on site before as it leaked and jammed on!

I think that the new OMS wing, which will probably work, will be fitted to all new rigs from now on. So I'm somewhat aggrieved that I'll have to cough up £220 to replac the the CD one that doesn't work.
Thats on top of £220 recently for the VPM upgrade, (I declined colour, as I'd heard the batteries may not last a whole dive).

As a amtter of interest where did you get the information from? Are you getting a call, or email form the factory. This stuff I would like to know about.

Here it is. just arrrived (a prototype)

It can sit lower on the unit, its smaller at the top and is ring shaped with lift at the bottom.

Why not just unscrew the inflator from the wing and screw on a OMS one. IIRC its all the same fittings, made in the same factory and just rebadged accordingly. An inflator is a damn sight cheaper than a new wing. You can save that money for excess baggage charges

Is the wing elasticated?? Low profile and all that?

It's a pity that some bright spark can't come up with an injector where the LP hose plugs in from the bottom. When I plug the side mount into the wing, the up and over is a pain in the butt (and scrappy).

That's very simimilar to the one supplied with the Inspiration! Thge difference is that the Inspo. one is not low profile on top!

Also about inflator, the CD one looks exactly like the OMS one and on my OC rig never had problems until 3 years, then I just service the inflator and are good again. Neither one of my buddies complaine about them! Has anything chaged lately?

The CD / OMS / and whoever else re-badges them are interchangable. I can unscrew mine to do what you require, no sweat. Try it, or simply change the fittings - they are relatively cheap.
