ouroboros swagelock fittings

Hi guys,

Just remember that most diving hose threads are based on bolt sizes and are NOT the same as pipe thread sizes.

So be sure to check.

ie the regular 3/8" male thread on a LP hose will not screw into a 3/8" female swagelock thread or similar beastie.

I have swagelock QC 6 fittings with a 1/4" NPT female end and MJ Engineering do a nice little adaptor that converts this to female 3/8"UNF (normal scuba thread) and it all screws together nicely - OH, and for the 1/4"NPT I use thread tape to seal it and the 3/8"UNF stuff is O ring seal like "normal" - if there is such a thing on this list !

I was just about to order some QC6 fittings thanks to Mark's excellent post.

I have been informed that these parts have the valve in them so there will be no flow when they are disconnected.

Can somebody please confirm I am ordering the correct parts?

yep no prob with them since 4 years, but why do you want to disconnect or connect them uw ?

you connect on surface your offboard dil and you keep it until the end

the only gas I'm connecting to the DIL side uw is my spare O2 at 6m after 4-5h when my inboard 2l is nearly empty and because I like the adv to crack open when I'm metabolizing the O2 and need some to keep the loop volume

I have been looking for a good (quick) source for swage lock fittings like those published on Rebreather Phil - Boris QC6 OffboardInspiration . I am really just looking for some shop where I pay and get, which has proved difficult this far south (of Europe), can anyone help please?

You should not have to connect them uw

remember only one dil all the way up and down

Having said that if you really have to, it's really not a lot of water going through, so no worries dive happy

The body part listed is female NPT, the Boris block is ??? female thread. What adaptor are you using or can the body be purchased with the correct thread?
