Ouroboros Course - Stoney Cove

Just in case anyone ends up at Stoney Cove in England over the period 20th to 24th of May I'll be the poor chap trying to make sense of an Ouroboros with lots of help from Phil Short.

If you are there please stop and say hello but please don't expect any sparkling repartee as I'll need all the brain cells I can muster to get to grips with the technology.

If I can stave off exhaustion at the end of what I am sure will be long days I'll make some notes on the course and (eventually) post something here.

Re: Ouroboros Course - Stoney Cove

Hi Ant,

Keeping my fingers crossed you have good weather to defrost between dives, it may not be the most glamorous training location but thats what it is- a training location and a known quantity. The last thing you want while learning Rebreather is surprises!

I think you might have some company on the 21st, I'll be sure to tell them to track you down for a picture of you and the boris getting familiar at last

Have fun,
BEN

Any dive location that sells pastis and hot choclate 5 meters from the exit point gets 5 stars from me no matter how cr*p the water is....

Ant, if you end up sharing a 3 bedroom room with Phil, and you get there before him, he likes the small bed in the corner .

Enjoy the course and remember fresh water = no cleaning you kit!!!

Speaking as a man whose job is about to be relocated to Luxembourg (a place almost totally bereft of dive sites) I'm starting to see Stoney Cove as a "glamorous training location"

Hi Ant,

Don't forget I am only an hour and a half away from Luxembourg.

Good luck with the move.

Dave.

Re: Ouroboros Course - Stoney Cove

Thanks for all the encouragement, although the references to caravans and the B&B arrangements have got me intrigued.

As for making chocolate with milk it can be done, apparently PADI do a course for those who want to learn more (go to www.padi..... and click on PADI REFRESHMENT DIVER SPECIALITY for more info').

Luxembourg has flooded caves, hmmm... Now where did I put the TDI Cavern qual card?

Re: Ouroboros Course - Stoney Cove

Just to keep people up to date myself and a chap called Steve successfully completed the Mod 1 Ouroboros course at Stoney Cove with Phil Short. Total time on the unit 10 hours with the deepest dive 32m and the longest dive 90 mins. More on the course and first impressions of the unit later.
