boris stands

now in test is my new Boris stand the prototype is now out there being used and the first test seems to be going great
the stand will be tailored if required so the length of the stand fits you keeping the lung position in the right place and sits nicely over yourb lower back
i have made provision for the stand to take a suit inflation tank or battery pack.
you still have full access to the sliders and it makes getting in to the unit much much easier but make no real discernible difference to your trim
these will only be special order if any one would be interested???
or should it stay a prototype?

kindest regards john routley

Re: boris stands

I know you said it was height adjustable but Jeeeez how tall are you ??!! My boris is fine as is, mind you the idea of a suit bottle on the base is cool but would it not make me more butt heavy?

Re: boris stands

the first stand is already out there being dived, i was asked to make one for some one and i think it came out quit nicely
the unit now stands up fully kitted and is stable this stand is not in production but made on a one to one biases if you so want one commissioned
i will conceder it but I'm waiting to hear more on how the stand is doing after a few weeks punishment

Re: boris stands

Hey Nad
I had a friend make a Boris stand out of titanium thats 5.5 inches tall. I originally wanted to put a tank on the bottom but I now store a 200lb lift bag there. I went with titanium because I didn't want any more weight in the ass of the kit. I also have a top mount to hold a steel 8 cube tank for (dry suit/ BCD inflation) It works real well for perfect trim in the water. I wish I could get my cell phone pics on my PC then I could show them off. If you would like to see them I can send them to a cell phone that excepts pictures. Looking at your mount your probably going to have to cut more out on the bottom to get to your shut offs. I also put 3/16th inch thick rubber between the kit and the stand

Cheers Frankie (Boris #50)

PS I'm going on vacation so I won't have access to the web until Friday 4/21/06

I was diving with Frankie on earlier in the week and the stand looks great. It's made by the same guy that made the MK-15 stand shown in an earlier response.

That be Enrique Alavarez then, from Diving Equipment Specialties.
He does very nice work in titanium, he did Joe's CCR frame.
