Re: Mushroom Valves for DSV

Hey Bob
I the valves are from Drager. I'm not 100% sure but I think they are the ones they use on their " land base " oxygen rebreather mask. You would see that mask in a recompression camber. I tried getting them in the states and had a very hard time. I just purchased a extra set from CCR.

Jerome,
I regularly exchange mine (I have a second set of valves). I find that the Boris mushroom valve cradle is actually just a little to small for the mushroom valve. It seems that the valve will pucker over time and loose it's shape and fail so very slightly. In my tests this only happens after a dive when the DSV interior is wet from a past dive. I never had a failure if the DSV interior was completely dry.Try the "Suck / Blow" test after a dive.

Dr. Mike posted a picture a few months ago showing the valves in a puckered state. I exchange the valves and over time they go back to their original shape.
best of luck Frankie

Re: Mushroom Valves for DSV

Did anyone find a supplier?

It can't be that expensive from CCRB, surely?

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.
