Well yes it is a bit fat but a diver with a Boris is thick as one with the YBOD. Boris work really fine and gentle. However there is something I don't like too much: the hoses are a bit exposed. In the wreck I touch them many time around. Well, I was in small passages and the hoses are made by almost steel, but... Another disturbing thing is the deco alarm: you can shut off the vibration but you still have the red led always on on the HUD. You know just little stuffs, maybe it is personal. Anyway we did 50 min at 52 m and related deco and the PO2 was kept perfectly in a small range and moisture was reduced to some drops. Best, Nad

Technically, the YBOD is thickest at the center line of the unit (vertically) whereas the Boris has the same thickness across the back. From the angle of the picture, the Boris looks HUGE to me when compared to the YBOD -- which is also HUGE when compare to the SK, for example.

Yes, actually they are both huge in a different way: the size of Boris is almost concentrated on the top so...you can look a bit funny. From the angle of the picture, the Boris looks HUGE to me when compared to the YBOD -- which is also HUGE when compare to the SK, for example. Hey Nad,This has been on my mind for a while, especially after seeing the unit being dived with... they seem very long and I was wondering if it is possible to shorten them, to have it more streamline? See ya,

See ya, I don't know, I suppose the WOB calculations are based on this lenghts. I will check it with some other users. Jerome what do you think about it? Best, Nad

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes it's indeed part of the WOB I hated those floating hoses above my head (I mean my helmet) in caves because in low ceiling passages I had the hoses getting trap all the time ![]() So the solution is to put some weight on, mid way (500gr each side on non salt water, 1 kg in salt water) ![]() May the force be with you young Jedies |
