They're much tougher than either sponge or scouring pads. Used in the D5 at each end of the scrubber to stop the lime from coming through. Works a treat without affecting WOB. |

| Still Learning.... Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Good Tips and Ideas for Ouroboros Owners I suspect that the Boris may have two different types of retention ring as the ones I have look to be different from the ones in the photos (and the flat area looks smaller). The dimensions you see in the image are generated by Adobe (the ruler to the right confirms that they are approximately correct). Looking at mine there is about 4.5mm of flat area with about 2.1mm of chamfer on the inside. The knurled edge would reduce the available area to drill even further

What I would do is go to your local hardware store and just buy a smaller screw. The only recommendation is make sure it's 1/2" inch long Cheers |

Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Good Tips and Ideas for Ouroboros Owners Turn the ruler over next time then You mean like this?![]() I did think of that beforehand (honest!) but the ruler isn't flat and I wanted the scale as close to the glass surface as possible (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Good Tips and Ideas for Ouroboros Owners Some good simple ideas there. Does the pod only have 1 o-ring ? I would have expected a face and a barrel o-ring. If that painted face had had silicone grease on it then keep an eye out for flaking paint that may breach the o-ring.

A quick one: important to have off board connectors of dil and o2 the same => if solenoid not working (didn't happen to me in >500h) and 5h more deco, if you don't want a DCI of your left thumb, remove offboard dil and plug offboard o2, by using the ADV you'll maintain your optimised ppo2 ![]() Regards Jerome |

I can't claim I ever got bent in the left thumb...But I can clearly see how that could happen. Those buttons are a little hard to press!!! That's another reason why I wish Boris off board connections weren't keyed. If I were to do it all over again I would set up my kit with QC6 connections. Just like Phil. Cheers |
