No water will get in the H.P. whip so you can take off the heavy bottles when your cleaning your kit. Also notice the little lanyard to pull on to disconnect your tanks. Not sure why I was reading this thread as I'm a Kiss diver, but nice set of photos! One word of warning re the dust caps: I got some which look just like yours (from Beaver I think), they have an O-ring inside and look like they will seal. I got back from a trip where I'd hired cylinders, screwed the dust caps on my 1st stages, and chucked the unit in my rinse tank for a few hours with the rest of it sealed up. Result 1 flooded 1st stage! The ones I have do NOT make a seal As you have an O-ring on the 1st stage you want a nice flat mating surface in the cap with a centre depression to make a good seal.Neil

But I'm aware of that. I never soak my kit unless the first stages are charged with a tank. I use those caps so they don't fall off and their almost water / air tight. Good point any way. The screw is very small and counter sunk so it won’t prohibit you from screwing in your hoses. The nice thing about it is your counter lungs won’t ever spin when your screwing and unscrewing your hoses. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Frankie - you are a genius - the time I spend trying to screw/unscrew the counter lung locking rings without having the lungs rotate... Can you give a few more details on the diameter/length of the screws you used and what effect they are having on the case? I'd hate to knacker the case with this but based on the posting you MUST have this covered. Thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Good Tips and Ideas for Ouroboros Owners The sunken screw on the counter looks cool, CCRB should consider it as a standard. Spray looks cool, 1st dive with the foam base and it made me cry to see the scratches... Fil |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Good Tips and Ideas for Ouroboros Owners Hey Ant The screws are tiny little Stainless steel ones. There exactly 1/2 " inch long and the head is about 3/16" inch wide. They do put a little scratch in the case under the locking ring.....I could care less about this.....Because they work AWESOME! I now never ever have a problem with the counter lungs spinning when I'm connecting and disconnecting the hoses. ![]() The Plugs are off the self ones. I got them at a pool supply store. They use them to plug up the pool filter lines to pressure test them. P.S After the post I realized I forgot a few over things so when I get a chance I'll be taking more pictures and adding them to this post. I'm glad you liked some of my ideas.I'm a bit of a Tweaker ![]() |

It interesting to see so many changes which don't fundammentally interfere with the unit, I see so many other RBs where it seems within days of completing the course the proud owner is making changes left, right and centre. Thanks for the info - will let you know how I get on.
