![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CIS LUNAR Mark 5P VS. Ouroboros I'd like to hear you say that to Bill Stone. He still dives the rig anytime he cave dives. Tell that to Richard Pyle. He has the dives under his belt to beg to differ. Me i am simply deciding which to buy. A "Legend" or the up to date Boris. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CIS LUNAR Mark 5P VS. Ouroboros Whats the Boris rated breathing Trimix?? 100m What is the CIS LUNAR rated to breathing trimix 500ft. Also watch DVD's The Coral Reef. All rebreathers used are Marks and Rich using the CIS-LUNAR. Watch Pacific Abyss. Recently filmed, three on the CIS LUNAR and one on a Mark. Watch Ice Island by Wes Skiles. All used CIs Lunar Mark 5P's I dont think a Meg. or Inspo. could handle those conditions. An Inspo. is a MCdonalds happy meal toy when compared to a Cis Lunar Mark 5p. Give me a break. |

We're just trying to tell you that Cis is good for a collection, maybe still working, but 10y old.Nobody is telling you to buy the Ouroboros: if the servicing distance is the main factor so go for the Meg: it is a great machine, simply and modular. You won't be a better diver with a CIS vs. any other unit. Nad

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CIS LUNAR Mark 5P VS. Ouroboros I still dont buy your Hollywood arguement. Howard Hall has done more deep filiming than anyone and he uses Mk15's/15.5's...equally capable with the Cis and Boris I do not dispute that the Cis is still a powerful tool, and was way ahead of its time. But from your profile, indicating that you have no prior CCR experience, we can't help but think you are a troll. I find it hard for someone to build an arguement between these two units based on who they see on tv with no experience otherwise. in any case, these tools are only as good as those that can drive them. Insp has been sub 200m, as has Boris, Cis, Meg, and others. All have been dived in caves, all using mixed-gas, and all seen on tv (for what its worth). being a multiple unit owner..in my opinion...buy one that is new, with a warrantee, hard and software upgrades readily available. For a first unit, I also dont think there is any reason to spend more than $10k, BUT between the two you are discussing, go Boris for the simple fact that they are readily available.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CIS LUNAR Mark 5P VS. Ouroboros You present a valid point, but hey I'm just an 18 year old who has done his homework on CCR's. What are the accident stats on the Boris? i know the Inspo. is about as safe as walking through Ethipoia with a bag of rice attached to you. The Meg. has a fairly safe record, and The CIS has 4 known incidents, possibly five, so for 10 years of diving that ia a pretty awesome track record. Please respond. |
