| Still Learning.... Current Rebreather/s: | Wing Inflate LP Hose Routing? I understand that the tendency is to ditch the wing or at least the inflate but with both still in place and carrying the bail-out cylinder on the right one thing I would like to change is the routing of the hoses for the wing and dry-suit. The latter really just needs a shorter hose than I would use on OC, the former (the wing one) needs a bit more thought. I was considering routing the hose around the right shoulder across the back and down the left to the wing inflate but on the assumption that someone out there has already thought this through carefully would love to hear (or see) what other options are possible. NB I'd prefer to use components sourced in Europe and was planning breaking the hose a short distance from my first stage in order simplify handing that off if/when required. I'd also prefer (for now) to have both suit and wing connected (the suit has an Apeks inflator).

Concenrning your setup about going over the shoulder for the wing I am a little concerned if you need to remove the bailout. I have my bailout on the right, the wing hose pass under my left arm and LP hose goes from my right bailout to inflator on the left just passing under my chest. Length was also adjusted to avoid to much slack! My 2cts,

![]() | Re: Wing Inflate LP Hose Routing? Ant, I attached an AL13 to the Dil bottle w/removeable pony tamer; finally a use for an old Drager bailout bottle! The 1st stage has OPV, 30" LP inflator hose for drysuit & 40" LP hose with inflator coupling for the BC. Route the 40" hose up between the wing & Dil bottle then over your shoulder like a typical BC configuration. Route the 30" hose under your waist strap of the harness and up to your drysuit inflate valve. Now you have a self contained inflation system on board. I still carry a 24" LP inflator hose stowed away on my bailout stage for redundancy if needed. This system seems to work well for my buddies & I. Attached is a photo. Alan |

Concerning your setup about going over the shoulder for the wing I am a little concerned if you need to remove the bailout. I understand the concern - the idea was to have the hose in two sections one short going just far enough out from the first stage to give it some flexibility the second running from there to the inflate. In an emergency (or at the bottom of a hardboat ladder!) the stage could be dropped by breaking the first of these. It was just an idea and asking the question was because I wasn't entirely happy with it.
