-170m with a Superbly working Ouroboros

Had a bit of fun yesterday trying to push the exploration of St Sauveur cave (France) Boris was working and breathing amazingly well, unfortunetly it was me this time who wasn't working good and had serious HPNS between -160 and -170m obliging me to abort the exploration ...

Rest of the deco went ok up to -34m where my wrist seal cracked and leaked, being cold I had to shorten the deco and refuge myself in the warm habitat at -12m

If anybody interested on Boris parameters I can email you (for Boris owners only) the file of the datas, put it in the NEW folder of Prolink, let him transcribe the datas and it will be up to you. Not all of the 9h of the dive is on the file due to Boris being taken on surface before I moved in the habitat, but the most interesting is anyway the first 39 minutes

Manythanks for their help to :

Jason Francks (Boris technical assistance and staging tanks)
David Hasselden (Staging tanks on a Boris white cover)
Jean Philippe Dufayet
Christophe Richard

In the last 5 years of using Heliox I never had HPNS, maybe I'm getting hold, will maybe come back to Trimix ... food for thought

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

Nice to see you never stop your cave exploration!

May I ask what kind of symptoms of HPNS you've got?

Cheers

Re: -170m with a Superbly working Ouroboros

Feeling cold at -160m, left arm shaking at -165, all body shaking badly at -170m, stayed 1/2 minute standing still at that depth but nothing changed, kept hand on scooter trigger fortunetly and head back home. From 6/94 I'll maybe move to 6/85 ...

SILENT SUBMERSION

Normal UV26 in the past up to -180m and since two years a UV27 (NiMh) but with a double thickness of the wall of the body, the issue below -190m will/could be the propeller and the mecanism around it ... someone will have to try it : /

HPNS syndrome could come up after fast descents

How long did you go until reaching 170m
