Re: SF2 - Rebreather

Hi,
I found some pics at SDI/TDI - Deutschland Österreich Schweiz but where could we get more details?
Does this SF2 keep the bellows system of the PSCR ?
Seems a good option for as SM Rebreather !
Thanks,
Jale.

I havent seen any decent teardown pics, but I just dont get why anyone would use bellows in a CCR for a counterlung and especially why they'd keep nest counterlungs. It just seems like an exercise in making a car from a boat.
Used a EDO04 mccr during several years.
Pros: bullet proof unit, impossible to flood it except a major problem on exhaust valve
cons:wob in vertical position is horrible, you have to stop breathing ( with blocked glottis) if you want to look at the ceiling, weight, access to sensors ( on the EDO )

I tried one time inverted tanks on it ( like on the pics ) thats a nice looking unit like that but it was horribly butt heavy, undivable for me.

Turning a PSCR into mCCR if you own one and love it why not but i wouldnt consider buying one.

Regards

Marc

Re: SF2 - Rebreather

Last year I tested this unit
it is not comparable to a PSCR
I think Edo is made from stainless steel ?
sf2 is made of carbon, it was not heeavy on the butt butt

Guys ... we displayed this unit on our stand at Oztek11, without doubt the "sleeper" of the show. Once people understand what you have with this unit I can foresee a big response.

I can. I dive a prototype. Advantages: Easy to clean, very good flood recovery, streamline design, light wheight (37KG ready to dive and I need no wheights in my drysuit), killer trim out of the box with 3L steel 300 Bar tanks, no over the shoulder counterlungs means alot of more freedom.

Work of breathing changes with position of diver, that's true, but still very good WOB until 45° pos or negative. In standing position (90°) you must release gas through nose due to hydrostatic imbalance and start breathing again than it's OK.

Any way the unit passed a CE testing about that last winter. A full CE certification should come this year.

Greets,
